HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Training
The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is the NEW updated version of this course, replacing the superseded HLTAID003 Provide First Aid from 2021.
Introduction
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Many people also attend this course for their own personal reasons to gain knowledge in providing effective First aid.
Pre-course study
After you enrol there is online learner guide reading, videos to watch and a quiz. This can be done any time prior to your class. It is a pre-requisite this is completed before your class.
General Course outline
- HLTAID009 – CPR in included with all course content
- HLTAID010 – is included
- Manage casualties in various first aid situations
- Seek help from medical services
- Bites and stings, diabetes, chocking
- Hypothermia, drowning, burns
- Head, neck, and spinal injuries
- Minor wounds, bandaging
- Cardiac conditions, including chest pains
- Shock, sharps injuries and stoke
Practical Demonstration
It is a requirement of this course that a practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor. We implement COVID standards based on State govt requirements, these are subject to change regularly.
Re certification requirements
It is recommended HLTAID011 is refreshed every 3 years. This is a requirement for many professions. If you are in doubt, contact your professional body for advice.
