HLTAID009 CPR
The HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course is the NEW updated version of this course, replacing the superseded HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from 2021.
Pre-course study for CPR
After you enrol there is online pre-course reading, videos to watch, and a quiz. This can be done any time prior to your class. It is a pre-requisite that must be completed before your class.
Online learning is 1 hour, and practical class time is 1.5 hours.
General Course outline
- Recognise and assess an emergency situation
- Ensure safety for self, bystanders, and casualty
- Seek help from medical services
- Display respectful behaviour towards casualty
- Perform CPR in accordance with the ARC guidelines
- Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information in line with statutory or organisation policies
Practical Demonstration
It is a requirement of this course that a practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
Re certification requirements
It is recommended CPR is refreshed annually. This is a requirement for many industries. If you are in doubt, contact your professional body for advice.
